Chris Rennard has worked tirelessly, and usually successfully, for the Liberal Democrat party (hopefully crowning his career with an increased Liberal Democrat representation in Brussels and, for the time being, Strasbourg). He is due a rest. It is only a pity that his departure has clearly been hastened by exposure of his apparent manipulation of the parliamentary expenses regime.
Although not in the Moran (or any number of Tory and Labour MPs) class, his alleged economy with the truth makes it impossible for him to continue as a front-line spokesman for the party.
